Effective erosion control
Erosion is cased by fast moving water dissolving and eating away at the soil structure on slopes. The best way to combat this de-structuring is by slowing the flow of water. Sometimes this can be accomplished with retaining walls or dry creeks but often the best solution is to cover the slope with stone to slow the water flow. RipRap is large crushed limestone that provides a secure way to hold sloped earth in place. The angular edges of the stone allows it to lock together on steep slopes even exceeding 45 degrees. Another advantage to riprap is it’s cost. Compared to other means of holding slopes in place using riprap can be much more affordable.
